Many sights in Lisbon itself and so much history. Half day city tour includes the Alfama and the port. Special pastries one must try prepared by monks in the monasteries. Boat museum and splendid churches Day trip to Obidos and Nazare. Commuter train out to Sintra to see the Pena Palace and another day trip out to Cascais on the Atlantic Ocean. A wine country visit out to the scenic countryside.
January/February 2025
Stay in the charming, Colonial El Centro where everything is within walking distance. Start off with a walking tour of the historical Centro. Visit Fabrica Aurora which is an old textile factory composed now of art galleries, antique shops, home décor boutiques, and restaurants. We will also go to William Harris Jewelry where Bill will welcome you to his Atelier, followed by a tour of his two houses, beautiful garden, and the Pope’s Dining Room.
April or May, 2025
In Paris visit the Christian Dior Museum which chronicles his life and designs. This is a fabulous museum housed in his flagship store with restaurant, gift store, et al. See current fashion exhibitions with a live fashion show highlighting the best of the season’s haute couture and prêt-a-porter! Off to Granville, located in Brittany, to visit Dior’s boyhood home overlooking the ocean which is now a museum. Then visit Lyon, the home of silk weaving and fabulous surprises!
